Climate Progress does a real good job of addressing the latest NY Times news about Calera, the firm touting a process to sequester carbon dioxide in cement.

A bit of research reveals that Calera received about $1.4 of federal stimulus money from the Department of Energy (link to spreadsheet here), helping buttress the point that we need some sort of clearinghouse of experts to help decide where to put our money.

I’ve written about Calera once before, pointing out how they don’t appear to be revealing reports they’ve commissioned by independent outfits to evaluate their technology.
