Yvo de Boer, head of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, has resigned, as detailed in a UN press release.

As reported here in Spiegel Online International,

After July 1 of this year he’ll move to the private sector as a “Global Advisor on Climate and Sustainability” for the Dutch-headquartered audit and consulting firm, KPMG.

It remains to be seen if this resignation is really a setback to the process of developing a climate change treaty. Some people think new blood can help reinvigorate the process. Only time will tell.
