The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society claimed its 78 ft protest powerboat the Ady Gil was “sliced in half” by the Japanese security ship Shonan Maru 2 as it loitered near the whaling fleet.

It seems the Andy Gil was sunk. A few days back I noted that the Andy Gil was reported to be carrying “photonic” devices, meant to create temporary blindness. One wonders whether the Japanese crew’s eyesight was impaired at the time of this incident.

I’m no expert, but it does appear in this video that the Japanese vessel turned toward the Andy Gil.
