I bought a couple of Baby Einstein tapes on eBay for my kids a few years ago, and was unimpressed. Some music, some figures jumping around, would make my kid smart? I didn’t think so and decided not to invest further. Now it seems Disney, who bought the franchise a while back, has admitted that you kid will not be smarter for watching this stuff. As they say in the Baltimore Sun, Disney is even offering refunds, in
an admission that the videos don’t teach babies anything. The videos also have long conflicted with a recommendation from the American Academy of Pediatrics that kids under 2 watch no television (including videos) at all.
