Investing in nuclear power is a bad move because it is very likely that there will be another bad accident along the lines of Three Mile Island or Chernobyl. After the next one, there will be another public outcry, likely to result in closure of plants, or at the least resulting in plants under construction going the way of the dodo. Facts can be argued, but emotional reaction to producing deadly materials people cannot see has an awful lot of power after a crisis.

One reason why there could be another accident is that back when a lot of the current plants were constructed, drug abuse was quite rampant, and there were no testing programs in place for the workers, so there could have been problems that resulted, which may only show up after decades.
